ABOUT ME

I've always struggled with how to describe the work I do. "Cabinet maker" sounds a bit fussy to me, whereas "Carpenter" sounds a bit rough. Woodworker I suppose is the best. I'd say that my skill set draws on quite a few disciplines within the industry. The obvious starting point was construction. Understanding how a house is put together brings me constant entertainment as I look around the man made world. The infinite variations within the mundane elements of the 2nd fix probably bring me more joy than they should! When we moved to Brighton in 2012 I was determined to branch out more creatively. The next 4 years were mainly spent working at Plunge Creations (nee Productions), a prop making company based in Brighton, UK. Plunge was a quite extraordinary place to work. The variety of daring and adventurous jobs that seemed to flow through the door made for an incredibly inspiring atmosphere to work in. As well as a few others, I still work for plunge occasionally. Since 2016 I have otherwise worked entirely for myself, creating storage and timber installations in the often cramped houses of Brighton. Storage is a wonderful thing. Done well, it will change your life for the better. Within most houses there are endless nooks and alcoves that could be put to better use. It provides more space, and we all need more space.
